Camp activities
Hand craft workshops In these workshops the children can develop their skills at painting, drawing, embroidery, etc. They often have to work in teams, which also helps to develop their team spirit. Runic writing The history of runic writing started long before the Conquest, and it was used at some places even a couple of hundred years ago. Today, however, only a few people know it, although the symbols of it can be a sign and a tool of the Hungarian ethnics. Excursion to the mountains We want to draw the kids' attention to the difficulties of living in nature, for example, how much people struggled to get their daily food, which is so simple for us today. Games We teach them long-forgotten games, which filled the days of the youngsters long ago. Archery They can have the possibility to sneak a peek into the world of martial arts. We show them how to use a bow and arrow. Ball games Football championships, volleyball, or even dodge ball. "Station game" The aim of the game is to collect the most scores on each station by accomplishing each task with skills or logic. Rowing The older children can try out rowing. The steersman and the rower must learn how to cooperate in order to move forward. Beach Fun time on the beach with water slides and sunbathing. Evening programs As usual, we have Moldva dance classes and evening concerts with surprise guests. But each year we prepare surprise occasions too. Togetherness We emphasize the evening occasions. We would like to teach the youngsters the meaning of the big conversations and how colorful they can be. We also would like them to learn our common songs. We also emphasize the importance of cooperation and teamwork. We also want to involve the children into the background work of the camp. We want them to help in the kitchen, cooking, washing the dishes, the tasks around fires, collecting wood, making the fire, and watching the fire. We want them to have such experiences that make their lives more colorful, and through these experiences they can fulfill spiritually. |
